Biography
Mike Dasher has 26 years experience in golf course architecture, completing more than 50 new courses. The majority of his work is in the southeastern United States, although he has also completed projects in Texas, Pennsylvania and Puerto Rico.
Mike believes that for a course to be considered great, it must appeal to and challenge a wide range of skill levels. Strategic incorporation of hazards, be they sand, water, wind, uneven lies, or trees, and longer and safer routes to each green are hallmarks of his designs. He also believes that great courses should be able to be maintained to a high standard of maintenance at minimal cost. A civil engineer by training, Mike understands that good drainage is crucial to high quality maintenance.
Also included in his portfolio are award winning renovations such as Orange Lake Country Club Reserve Course (Joe Lee, original architect) outside Orlando. Mike recently worked on a major storm water retro-fit project that included the renovation of the 1920s-era Dubsdread Golf Course (Tom Bendelow, original architect) for the city of Orlando. |
