Canadian Tom McBroom knew from a young age that his calling in life was to be a golf course architect. Challenged by Canada's lack of precedence for such a career, Tom still followed his dream, obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Guelph. Tom then worked for Robbie Robinson, mentee of Stanley Thompson, and with Bob Cupp on a few courses, amidst other work, before starting Thomas McBroom Associated Ltd., a Toronto–based landscape architecture firm specializing in golf course design. Tom's "signature designs" are characterized by their great beauty, craftsmanship, and harmonious integration with the landscape they occupy. His work is founded on an understanding and fascination with the history and tradition of the game. Combined with Tom's creative flair and vision, each of his courses has its own distinct personality, charm, and playing experience.
