Jay Morrish, ASGCA has been elected a Fellow of the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA). The election occurred during the group’s 63rd Annual Meeting, held recently in Seattle, Wash.
Morrish, who served as ASGCA President in 2002-2003, has been an ASGCA member since 1989. He earned a BA from Colorado State University and began his career working for Robert Trent Jones as a construction superintendent. He worked for a number of years for Jack Nicklaus in his design office before forming Jay Morrish and Associates in 1983. He lists the following representative courses: River Valley Ranch, Carbondale, Colo.; Tehama, Carmel, Calif. and Stone Canyon, Tucson, Ariz.
To achieve Fellow status, one must be an ASGCA member in good standing for at least 10 years and have reached the age of 70. With the election of Morrish the number of ASGCA Fellows stands at 26.
