A recent article on WorldGolf.com informs readers of the “Architect on Staff” program offered by Robert McNeil, ASGCA Associate and his firm, The Northeast Golf Company. Through the establishment of an annual design agreement, the company becomes a course’s dedicated golf course architect, bringing personalized, accountable experience to courses.

McNeil’s service has been formalized more recently in an effort to offer clubs an avenue to affordably tackle a few of the economic challenges they may be facing, according to the article. The program aims to provide piece of mind to a club’s staff and management team through a trusted and accountable go-to design resource. Ultimately, the article reports, McNeil’s firm would like to become an extension of a club’s golf course management team.

Courses with an “Architect on Staff” relationship receive the following services:

·         As-needed visits to a course (over a year’s time) to address design issues or provide improvement directives

·         On-call Design Inquiry services to answer questions related to construction specifications or materials, or other golf-related issues

·         Review of existing facility conditions to establish baseline data for future improvement planning
