After walking a site for majority of a day, I returned to my rented Jeep to find approximately fifty head of cattle surrounding the vehicle. As I approached, the cattle started to charge me!
I quickly turned, ran up a small incline, picked up a stick, held it over my head and started screaming at the small herd!
To my surprise, cows stopped in their tracks, which allowed me to scamper off and seek help from a local rancher. The rancher took me to my vehicle.
“You did the right thing,” he told me. “You stop charging cattle by holding up your arm.”
The cattle won in the end, though: I ended up missing my flight, which of course, was the last one of the day.
