Bergin Golf Designs is led by Bill Bergin, whose background in the golf industry is distinctive. Bergin played the world's best golf courses as a touring professional, gained an understanding of club operations and the ability of the everyday player as a teaching professional, and acquired technical design experience under the guidance of noted designer Bob Cupp.
Over the last thirty years, Bergin has been involved in the planning and design of over 120 projects, including more than 100 under his own banner. Highlighting Bergin Golf Designs’ completed projects are Richland Country Club in Nashville, named as one of Golf Digest’s Top 3 Best Transformations for 2023; Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club, nestled along 30A on the Florida panhandle; McLemore Club, an ASGCA Design Excellence selection located on Lookout Mountain, in Rising Fawn, GA; Minnesota Valley Country Club, a Seth Raynor resurgence in Bloomington, MN; Oaks Country Club, an A.W. Tillinghast renovation in Tulsa, OK, selected as the 4th Best Remodel in the U.S. by Golf Digest for 2015; Tennessee Grasslands, a magnificent 36 hole facility on Old Hickory Lake near Nashville, Tennessee, chosen as one of Golfweek’s 2009 Best New Courses; Chattanooga Golf & Country Club, an acclaimed Donald Ross restoration on the banks of the Tennessee River in downtown Chattanooga. In 2017, Golf Inc. Magazine named Bill one of the Top 10 Most Innovative People in Golf for his work with the Longleaf Tee Initiative.
Since founding Bergin Golf Designs in 1994, Bergin has combined his strategic instincts and extensive design experience with the latest technology and a dedication to detail in project management. Along with his design associates and in-house golf course superintendent, Bergin offers design and construction supervision services for new layouts, renovations, and practice facilities. Complementing their design services, BGD utilizes the latest technology when establishing topographical information and creating visual graphics, and assists clients with grow-in and agronomical issues. Bergin, a member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects, knows golf and loves golf. He and his team create outstanding courses enjoyed by golfers of all levels.
