Bobby began playing golf at the age of 10 and as a teenager built a driving range on his father's farm in South Carolina. He studied agronomics at Lake City Community College in Florida and graduated in 1977. His professional career began with a six-year apprenticeship with Pete Dye that launched a professional relationship that would last 17 years. In 1983, he was hired by the PGA TOUR and eventually became their in-house architect in 1987. In 1994, Bobby began his own design firm, Bobby Weed Golf Design. He believes that the holistic approach is the best way to go when it comes to golf design. His skill and practical business acumen allow him to create a successful golf course design that stands out.
