Keith Cutten is a Canadian golf course architect and author. As a founder of the firm of Whitman, Axland & Cutten (WAC Golf), Keith works with his design-build partners to expertly craft golf courses that seamlessly blend into the landscapes in which they are shaped. Keith is an expert in both golf course architecture and construction, having participated in several of Canada’s high-profile, contemporary new build projects. These include Cabot Links, Cabot Cliffs, and Sagebrush Golf Club.

With his design partners, Keith is currently working to complete a new 19-hole short course at the Bandon Dunes Resort in Bandon, Oregon.  Additionally, the trio is slated to complete new-build designs at Cabot Pacific at Revelstoke Mountain Resort; The Ranch in Stuart, Florida; The Tribute Club at Thornburgh in Bend, Oregon; and, The Hillsdale Golf Club in Mirabel, Quebec.

Keith is a passionate student of golf history. In 2018, he published The Evolution of Golf Course Design. Furthermore, Keith serves on the Board of Directors for the Stanley Thompson Society. This passion for golf’s rich history has led to several notable golf course renovation projects, including the Algonquin Golf Course in St Andrews-by-the-Sea, New Brunswick and the Brantford Golf and Country Club in Brantford, Ontario.

Further to his experience in the design and construction of golf courses, which extends beyond a decade and a half, Keith has also achieved academic success. He gained an undergraduate degree in Planning and Environmental Design from the University of Waterloo, which led to a stamp as a Professional Planner. Additionally, Keith holds a master’s degree in landscape architecture from the University of Guelph. More specifically, Keith’s thesis research explored the voluminous history of golf course architecture, which greatly assisted when laying the foundations for this book.

Keith lives in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada with his wife and three children.
