A native of Columbus, Ohio, Patrick attended The Ohio State University where he graduated in 2003 with a double major in Landscape Architecture and Turfgrass Science. After graduating he left Ohio and went to Arizona where he began to work as a Design Associate for Forrest Richardson & Associates. In 2006 he began to work for Schmidt – Curley Design Inc. as a Senior Design Associate.
During his senior year at Ohio State, Patrick organized a unique study abroad program. He worked with scholarship donors and the university to coordinate an independent study of 35 of the world's most influential golf courses. In seven weeks, he drove to courses throughout Ireland, Scotland and England, spent the day with the course superintendent, photographed the course, took notes and played it. Afterwards, he drove to the next town, stayed in a youth hostel and did it all over again. Patrick has more than 10 years of experience, and has concentrated his practice in China.
