Steve Forrest became an associate with Arthur Hills and Associates after earning his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from Virginia Tech in 1979. Since then, he has been involved in all phases of golf course design and renovation. He became a principal in the firm (Arthur Hills / Steve Forrest and Associates) in October 1999. He has been an ASGCA member since 1985 and was President for the 2007-2008 term. His design approach, which has been shaped by the traditionalist philosophy of Arthur Hills, is to create a challenging, yet playable course that highlights the beauty and natural features of a given site. From 2000 through 2012, Steve was active with the expansion of the Arthur Hills portfolio in Europe, North Africa, Russia and China with projects such as these: Hills Golf Club (Gothenburg, Sweden) Sand Golf Club (Jonkoping, Sweden) Vasatorps Golfklubb TC and Classic Courses (Helsingborg, Sweden) Oslo Golfklubb (Oslo, Norway) Noria Golf Club at Chrifia (Marrakech, Morrocco) Forest Hills Golf Club (Moscow, Russia) The Petercourse (St. Petersburg, Russia) In recent years, the scope of work has included new course and renovation work in the United States.
