Todd Eckenrode-Origins Golf Design specializes in golf course design services for new golf course designs as well as classic restorations, renovations and redesigns. Todd learned the game at Dr. Alister MacKenzie’s revered Pasatiempo GC. He played collegiate golf at the University of Arizona, and U.C. Santa Barbara, and continued to play amateur golf competitively, including events such as the U.S. Amateur, British Amateur, and U.S. Public Links Championships (Medalist 1998), before following up with a B.S. in Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo. In 1995 he began to work as a Senior Designer for Gary Roger Baird Design until 1999 when he started his own golf design company, Todd Eckenrode – Origins Golf Design. Todd’s career took off with the opening of Barona Creek GC in San Diego County. Barona Creek has laid claim to numerous awards over the years such as “Top 10 New Courses” by Golf Magazine, “Top 100 Modern Courses, and #4 in California – America’s Best State Rankings (Public)” by Golfweek, among others. Master Plan, Restoration and Renovation Projects at many classic California golf courses include esteemed clubs such as Lakeside Golf Club, The Valley Club of Montecito, Brentwood CC, Virginia CC, San Gabriel CC, Palos Verdes Golf Club and Orinda CC.
