Vicki began her golf course design career when she was hired for a drafting position from McCumber Golf in 1981. Eventually she was offered a drafting position from Palmer Course Design Company where she would work for 25 years. Vicki was able to grow and learn under the tutelage of Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay and eventually became Senior Golf Course Architect, Vice President, and the Director of Environmental Design.
In 2010 she began her own company, Victoria Martz Golf Design, and served as President. Vicki had more than 25 years of experience and has designed courses throughout the United States and internationally. She strongly believed in sustainable design solutions that brought "fun" back into the game. She was a strong advocate for sensitive environmental design and believed that preserving and enhancing the natural features of the land gave a course identity, character, and unique challenge. She also served on the advisory board for The Task Force for Women in Golf.
Martz was elected into ASGCA as an Associate member in 2000, a regular member in 2003, and then Fellow in 2016.
