The renovation of The Preserve at Oak Meadows in Addison, Illinois, is nearly complete. ASGCA Past President Greg Martin (Martin Design) tells WGN-TV the project to renew the nearly 100-year-old facility meets his playing and environmental vision.
The nearly $17 million renovation to the former Elmhurst Country Club features storm water control that will now hold 20 million extra gallons of water in wetlands and flood plains, without needing to close the course due to flooding.
“The course is visually stunning,” said WGN’s Dan Roan.
“We will get it firmer and faster as it grows in, but the course is in excellent shape,” Martin said. “We are very, very happy.”
The property also features bicycle and walking paths, improving the quality of life for all residents.
