In “Golf Inc’s World Golf Report blog,” writer Robert Vasilak recently reported on the work Roger Rulewich, ASGCA, is doing in Evora, Portugal. Rulewich was hired to provide preliminary designs for four 18-hole golf courses at Parc Alqueva, which is a 6,200-acre resort community located about 100 miles east of Lisbon, according to the article.
Although Rulewich was hired in 2004, the project was put on hold due to environmental concerns, as the city is located in Portugal’s hottest and driest region. Construction on the first course finally began last year. Rulewich has done routings for all four courses in the community, which also includes seven hotels, at least three village centers, a marina, a spa, an amphitheater, a meeting space, an equestrian center, townhouses, and apartments, the article reports.
