The latest report from the National Golf Foundation finds the number of rounds of golf played in the U.S. in 2012 is up 7.7% over this same time last year.
The largest increase have been seen at public facilities, where rounds have increased 8.7% through August (the last month statistics are available for to date). At private course, rounds played has increased 4.1%.
In all, 47 states have seen increased play in 2011.
States showing the largest increases over 2011 to date are: Utah (18.4%), Ohio (16.8%), Michigan (15.4%), and North and South Dakota (14.9%),
