“I want to see happy golfers on the 18th hole.” That philosophy has served ASGCA Past President Bill Amick well for some 60 years as a golf course architect. He shares his experiences – and current projects – on a Golf Course Industry “Tartan Talks.”
For the first time in his career, Amick is working in the South Pacific. He discusses a new design in Tonga with Guy Cipriano.
Amick also talks about new ideas and concepts for growing the game with more learners and beginners, including “learner courses” within larger facilities that focus on “target zones.”
“Golf is tough, especially at the start,” Amick said. “Smaller and easier courses are a nice way to start to bring players along.”
