Beginning at age 10, Brian Costello was immersed in the game of golf. After an introduction to the game by his father, Brian became a caddy and a competitive golfer. This early exposure to both the game and historic courses developed into Brian's fondness for classic and traditional layouts. Today his designs show his dedication to the game experience as defined by its setting. Brian received a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from the University of California at Davis in 1983. Upon graduation, he worked for Hargreaves Associates for five years, and then he joined JMP Golf Design Group. In 1994, Brian became a Principal of the firm, a professional golf course design company that provides services exclusively in the field of golf course architecture. JMP serves clients throughout the United States and internationally. The firm's project list includes award-winning private, public and resort golf courses on five continents. The partners of JMP are committed to environmental responsibility and designs that are responsive to site conditions and existing landforms, while still meeting their clients' market and budget requirements. Brian recently served on the ASGCA's Board of Governors (2016 - 2019) and currently serves on the ASGCA Executive Committee.
