Todd is President and Senior Golf Architect of GrassRoots Golf Design (formerly iCon Golf Studio) based in Broomfield, Colorado and is a full-member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA). He is and an award winning designer and accomplished shaper with a 25-year career spanning design, renovation, construction, maintenance and operations.
Todd specializes in creating and implementing successful golf course projects, with focus on remodel, and renovation. His work spans the country and is recognized as high-quality, memorable courses with interesting routings and playing strategies on a variety of site conditions. He is extremely knowledgeable about the challenges and rewards of building golf courses in all types of environments having learned the complexities of golf design and maintenance literally from the ground up.
Todd is passionate about design and a student of classic golf course architecture and has had the privilege of working with some of the industry’s leading tour players, designers, and operators including; Hale Irwin, Phil Mickelson, Bob Cupp, Troon Golf, and OB Sports. Todd is considered an expert on sustainable golf courses, alternative golf courses, stormwater management, future golf trends and re-visioning community golf courses.
Todd is a frequent speaker at the Golf Industry Show and is a long-time member of the Golf Course Superintendent’s Association of America and the Donald Ross Society.
