Fry/Straka Golf Course Design – Dana Fry, ASGCA and Jason Straka, ASGCA – has been named the Golf Course Design Firm of the Year for 2013 by The BoardRoom Magazine. The award will be presented Feb. 6 at the Club Managers Association of America National Convention in Orlando, Fla.
“We are honored to have won this Excellence in Achievement Award from The Boardroom Magazine,” said Fry. “We take pride in designing courses and renovations that exceed the expectations at each club, providing enjoyment for players far into the future.”
Two Fry/Straka projects, Camelback Golf Club (Ambiente Golf Course) and Columbia Country Club, are among the 12 courses named this year as recipients in the second annual ASGCA Design Excellence Recognition Program, and Ambiente was named among Golf Digest’s Best New Courses of 2013.
The Boardroom Magazine Excellence in Achievement Awards recognize vendors and educators for their impact, achievements and contributions to the club industry. Winners, selected by an independent panel of industry experts representing various aspects of club and course operations, are chosen for overall excellence in their respective fields, innovation, vision for future growth and continued impact on private club operations.
The Boardroom Magazine is the only publication of its kind that is designed to educate the board of directors, owners, general managers and department heads of private golf, city, yacht, tennis and country clubs about issues concerning all aspects of the club, including golf course management and operations. The magazine is distributed throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia and Asia.
