Construction is beginning on a new design by Jim Engh, ASGCA. The Minot Country Club, Minot, N.D., replaces the original course, destroyed by flooding in 2011.
“Golf Course Architecture” reports, “A group of the club’s members acquired property for the new course and hired Engh to design it. The new course will feature major elevation changes and will run through natural valleys and over streams. It is expected to open in late 2014.
“’The groundbreaking of the new Minot Country Club, marks the beginning of a new chapter in our club’s history, and also for the community of Minot,’ said board member Mark Hildahl. ‘We are excited for this day and are even more excited for the opening of what will become one of the most inspiring club openings in the region, if not the country.’”
