Four members of the ASGCA advanced to Regular member status at the recent ASGCA Annual Meeting in Greensboro, Ga. The members are Ian Andrew, Brantford, Ontario; Jim Cervone, Trafford, Pa.; Jerry Lemons, Old Hickory, Tenn.; and Cal Olson, Aliso Viejo, Calif.
The elevated status keeps them among the nearly 180 ASGCA members who practice around the world.
The members earned the new designation by meeting the association’s requirements, including continuing their engagement and practice of golf course architecture while having been an ASGCA Associate member for at least three years. Those advancing to Regular member status (and some of their recent golf course architecture work) include:
- Ian Andrew, Ian Andrew Golf Design, Inc., Brantford, Ontario – Club de Golf Laval Sur-Le-Lac, Laval-sur-le-lac, Quebec, Canada (18-hole new course); and Saskatoon Golf & Country Club, Saskatchewan, Canada (10-hole remodel).
- Jim Cervone, Cervone Golf Design, Trafford, Pa. – Hna Zingye Sport Resort Park, Hnair Danzhou, China (18-hole new course); Beijing Golf Club, Beijing, China (18-hole remodel); and Ordos International Golf Club, Inner Mongolia, Ordos, China (18-hole new course with Brian Ault, ASGCA).
- Jerry Lemons, Lemons Golf Design, Old Hickory, Tenn. – Numerous remodeling projects since election to Associate, including Cole Park Golf Course, Fort Campbell, Ky.; and Calvert City Country Club, Calvert City, Ky.
- Cal Olson, Cal Olson Golf Architecture, Aliso Viejo, Calif.; Agalarov Estate, Moscow Russia ( 18-hole new course); Napa Valley at WuHan, WuHan, China (9-hole new course, plus practice range); Intercontinental Hotel/ Resort, Huizhou, China (9-hole new course, 9 holes pending); and Chongqing Tie Shan Ping – Golf Sport Park, Chongqing, China (9-hole new course).
Three Regular members achieved Fellow status with ASGCA by being an ASGCA member for at least 10 years and having reached age 70. They are ASGCA Past President Rees Jones, Montclair, N.J.; Mike Poellot, San Jose, Calif.; and Lindsay Ervin, Edgewater, Md.
