ASGCA President Jason Straka (Fry/Straka Global Golf Course Design), was recently profiled by “Golf Asia” magazine, including a Question & Answer session that touched on a number of topics, from environmental golf architecture to what has been learned about design in the time of COVID.
“In developing markets golf doesn’t always need championship courses immediately,” Straka said “It needs putting greens, short game areas, ranges and par 3 courses.”
The interview details the golf-related influences on Straka’s life, both in terms of playing and design. Her highlights the opportunities to play that existed while growing up in Ohio, and a love of the outdoors that drives his thinking when it comes to sustainable design.
