Ask Doug Myslinski, ASGCA, what he wishes those outside ASGCA knew about the Society and his answer is clear. “I wish others knew how many other things we do besides designing golf courses,” he said.
“Many of us have engineering backgrounds, experience in marketing, have created and run our own businesses and more. That diversity in our professional and personal experience is something we bring to every project we work on.”
Myslinski, senior designer at Jacobson Golf Course Design whose own work has taken him across the United States and around the world, believes golf course owners and managers will benefit by sometimes looking at services provided by ASGCA members in a new and different light.
“They might consider creating a master plan with an ASGCA member, then phase in the recommendations step-by-step as their finances allow,” he said. “If course owners and operators are open to new thinking there is no telling what we can do for them.”
