Tee-2-Green is pleased to offer the services of professional agronomist and former superintendent Lewis Sharp who serves as golf course consultant with primary focus on U.S., Canada and Europe.
“We knew there was a need to have someone in-house to help customers with questions and challenges, so Lew is available to assist architects, golf course builders and superintendents,” explains Bill Rose, president of Tee-2-Green. “Lew is a guy who has real-world experience growing in and maintaining the Penn bentgrasses, so he can relate to agronomic and cultural challenges faced by our end-users.”
With 20 years of professional turf experience, Sharp most recently worked as golf course superintendent at Dye’s Walk Country Club in Greenwood, Ind. Throughout the span of his extensive career, Sharp worked in course maintenance at several Midwest golf courses, and also served as director of golf operations at Valle Vista Golf, also in Greenwood. After obtaining an associate’s degree in architecture from Vincennes University in Indiana, Sharp went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in engineering and turf management from Purdue University.
“It’s very exciting to reverse roles, in a sense, but still use my years of experience in the golf maintenance industry to now call on superintendents and architects on behalf of Tee-2-Green,” says Sharp. “The Penn bents are a product I believe in and personally maintained, so I’m eager to share my insight with existing and prospective customers.”
