Audubon Lifestyles, a non-profit education organization focused on sustainability, recently announced its completion of the development of a program geared to assist those seeking to become models of sustainability at their golf facilities.

The Sustainable Golf Facility Program was launched to reduce the consumption of non-renewable resources, minimize waste, create healthy productive environments, and inform people about the benefits of sustainably managed golf facilities. Audubon Lifestyles will assist program participants by incorporating sustainable principles, concepts, and management strategies.

R. Eric Dodson, President and CEO of Audubon Lifestyles, noted that the organization decided to develop the program because the golf industry is at a crossroads. “In the face of this economically uncertain time, there is opportunity for the golf course industry to build upon our previous environmental improvements and become leaders in the more recent movement connected with sustainability,” said Dodson.
