In the March/April edition of BoardRoom Magazine, Bobby Weed, ASGCA discusses the importance of infrastructure improvement when renovating a course, and Michael Hurdzan, ASGCA offers advice on choosing whether to contract out a renovation job.
Weed stresses that improvements made to a golf course are just “window dressings” if the infrastructure does not function well. He recommends starting with an assessment of a facility’s infrastructure and then composing and communicating the plan for replacement and maintenance.
Additionally, in the article, Hurdzan includes a chart clubs can use to assess whether a renovation job should be handled with existing staff or contracted out.
