A recent survey of ASGCA members showed that the golf course architects have designed courses and worked on projects in more than 90 countries around the world. Kevin Ramsey, ASGCA (Golfplan.com) has not worked in all of them…yet. He discusses his career in international architecture on a recent Golf Course Industry “Tartan Talks.”

“What other career path could i have chosen to see so many countries and experience so many cultures?” he asked. After a recent visit to Laos, Ramsey has now visited 41 countries, from China to Indonesia, South Korea to Uganda. “It’s been a wild ride.”

Ramsey recently added nine holes to Samsun in Turkey, bringing the facility to a full 18 holes. “Started as short course with driving range. As we talked they gave us more and more land, to a full-sized nine-hole course and then to 18 holes. Three sides of the project border the Black Sea, so we created a links-style course. A really good golf experience that Turkey has never seen before.”
