After three months of construction on a complete build out, Dye Designs Group (DDG) – and principal architect Cynthia Dye McGeary, ASGCA Associate – recently hosted a grand opening celebration for their new office in the Nanshan District of Shenzhen, China.

According to DDG’s Chief Executive Officer O’Brien McGarey, the move was prompted by growth in DDG’s China team in the areas of marketing and full-time design staff. The new office layout and purpose was envisioned by DDG’s President of Asia Pacific, Sam McGarey. DDG’s new location is in a renovated factory complex specifically geared toward the design industry. Previously located one hour outside of Shenzhen at Dye’s 27-hole course, CTS Tycoon Golf Club, the new office brings DDG to a more central location inside the city.

The Dye family, led by ASGCA Past Presidents and Fellows Pete Dye and Alice Dye, has designed more than 350 golf courses in 27 countries worldwide. Over four generations since 1922, the Dye family has learned the intricacies of the game and understands the demand for playability and safety that “hands on” golf course architecture during construction can provide.

DDG has been present in China since 1994, with an office established in Shenzhen since 2008. Their design studio headquarters will continue to be based in Denver, Colorado,
