Jim Engh, ASGCA has opened his first course in South Korea, “Golf Course Architecture” reports. The Jangsu Golf Resort course is three hours south of Seoul, located in the North Jeolla Province.

GCA reports the mountainous Jangsu course is a daily fee facility.

“I have always said that the things that make a project difficult to build are the things that make it exciting to play,” Engh said. “We chose to use the natural valleys and ridges to play up, down and across this exciting land. I believe that it is unlike any other course in South Korea.

“It is raw adventure on every hole, with no real chance to take a breath. Then again, maybe that is what resort golf is supposed to be.”
