The American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA) is offering “The Golf Course Remodeling Process – Questions & Answers,” a free, illustrated brochure available to anyone interested in the planning process.

The brochure is a complete guide to asking the proper questions for a successful remodeling project, from the most basic – Why remodel? – to the complex – How can a project be funded? A “Remodeling Checklist” and a list of resources to use during the remodeling process are also included. “The Golf Course Remodeling Process” is an excellent resource during the planning stages of a course redesign because it includes a complete explanation of the process for a club or course planning committee.

“Golf course remodeling is as much an art as a science,” said Erik Larsen, ASGCA, the group’s president. “Each course is a unique, living entity. This brochure provides the basis for making sure any remodeling project begins by asking and answering the correct questions, and sets the groundwork for a finished product that will serve the entire community for years to come.”

In addition to the brochure, ASGCA offers the internationally recognized Remodeling University, an education program providing superintendents, managers, owners and green committees with detailed information on golf course remodeling. Since 2000, more than 2,000 people have taken part in the Remodeling University program. For more information on Remodeling University or to schedule a symposium, call ASGCA at (262) 786-5960.
