Jason Straka, ASGCA, and Bryce Swanson, ASGCA, were recently named to Golf magazine’s list of the 40 most influential people in golf under the age of 40, attaining recognition in the course design/greenskeeping category.
Golf Magazine reported that Straka was one of the youngest members of ASGCA ever elected to its Board of Governors. A senior designer for Hurdzan/Fry Golf Course Design, Straka is currently working on a project in Brazil, and his Dundarave Golf Club on Prince Edward Island has garnered acclaim despite its relatively low cost to build, the article says.
Swanson, a senior designer for Rees Jones Inc., received rave reviews for his recent refurbishing work at Atlanta Athletic Club’s Highlands Course, which was done in preparation for the 2011 PGA Championship, reports Golf magazine. He has also done a facelift at Royal Montreal’s Blue Course and rebuilt Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis.
