Martin, Schaupeter and Richardson are all American Society of Golf Course Architect members.  Both Schaupeter, from St. Louis and Richardson, from Phoenix, have substantial public and resort experience.  Schaupeter has success in Missouri, Texas, and Colorado and most recently at The Highlands in Elgin, a Golf Week Best New Course.  Richardson’s experience includes Phantom Horse, Lookout Mountain and The Hideout in Utah, a top 30 Public Course.  Richardson also carries a significant historical renovation and restoration portfolio. Martin has completed projects in Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri and Indiana and is highly regarded for his work at Phillips Park in Aurora, Rich Harvest Links in Sugar Grove and recent renovations at Arrowhead Golf Club in Wheaton and Fox Run in Elk Grove.

Martin states “This design team was carefully constructed to address the unique needs of this golf course from strategy and playability, to water quality, wetland expansion, stormwater management to its historical significance and tournament capabilities.”

Ed Stevenson, Director of Golf for the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County says “The team at Oak Meadows and the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is thrilled with the selection of Martin Design Partnership.  Greg Martin’s philosophies as a steward of the environment and caretaker of golf are a perfect match for our project goals at Oak Meadows.  We feel this project is a special opportunity to improve the golf course and the surrounding preserve, creating a combined ecological and recreational treasure for generations to come.”

Stevenson concludes, “This is a unique challenge and we are confident that the professional team assembled by Martin Design Partnership is more than up to the task.  Through our search for a Golf Course Architect, we learned that Martin’s peers compliment him on his creative vision, past clients rave about his commitment, and most importantly – golfers praise his talent for designing golf experiences that are beautiful, exciting, and fun!”

Martin: “Golf, and public golf specifically, has the opportunity to be a solution to a variety of problems.  Oak Meadows will provide multiple environmental benefits and access to a beautiful and Illinois Landscape.  Not only will Oak Meadows be a great golf course, but it will be highly functional landscape that the citizens of DuPage County will be proud. The benefit of this project will go far beyond the boundaries of the golf course. I am very excited about working with The Forest Preserve District and Ed Stevenson on this great opportunity.”
