Golf Channel’s “Morning Drive” paid a visit to central Florida, where Gil Hanse, ASGCA, provided an update on the design and construction at Streamsong Black. The course is scheduled to open and join its older brothers – Streamsong Blue and Streamsong Red – in 2017.

Hanse, who designed the golf course for the upcoming 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Brazil, discussed the importance being a visible presence when his courses are under construction.

“Our success is due, in part, to maintaining perspective by being on site as much as possible. We cannot lose that,” he said.

Hanse also noted a core design philosophy: “Build natural courses that are playable and fun. Always remember that golf is a game.”
