A. John Harvey, ASGCA and A. John Harvey Golf Course Design, LLC has inked its first contract to develop a course renovation master plan for the Rockland Country club in Sparkill, N.Y.
Harvey has provided professional golf design services on an “on-call” basis for the Club since 1995 and was the golf architect of the most recent bunker and tee renovation project.
“Working with Rockland Country Club as the first client under my new company is very exciting to me,” Harvey said. “When a client keeps you on the radar screen for so long, I can’t help but think they appreciate the professional service and quality of work.”
Rockland Country Club is an 18-hole, private club embarking on the development of a course master plan and irrigation master plan to take into account feature improvements, today’s player demands and sustainability considerations for water usage, environmental resources, and labor. Bunker renovations have started with a few keyholes, while the installation of an entirely new Rain Bird® IC Irrigation System™ by Leibold Irrigation, Inc., is well underway.
In addition, AJH Golf, LLC landed the design of a short-game practice facility featuring synthetic turf on a private estate in Tuxedo Park, N.Y., that is also under construction.
The Company continues to serve existing clients of The RBA Group, including Century CC and Brae Burn CC in Purchase, N.Y,; Glen Head CC in Glen Cove, N.Y.; and Griffith E. Harris GC and The Milbrook Club in Greenwich, Conn. AJH Golf, LLC is embarking on cultivating new foreign and domestic design commissions under the company’s banner.
