Tim Liddy, ASGCA, (Timothy Liddy, Golf Course Design) was recently featured on Golf Channel’s “Morning Drive,” discussing the opening of Shepherd’s Rock at Woodlands Resort, Farmington, Pennsylvania. Liddy was co-architect on the project with ASGCA Past President Pete Dye.

Shepherd’s Rock is a 7,100-yard course in Pennsylvania’s Allegheny Mountains. The unique facility leads a golfer through areas of wetlands, woodlands and pasture.

“It’s typical of a project for Mr. Dye that you live on the property during construction.” Liddy told Matt Ginella. “And that’s what I did. You can make up to 20, 30 or sometimes 40 decisions a day, so you want to be there to make the right decisions.”

Golf commentator Mark Rolfing has called Shepherd’s Rock, “The most fun Pete Dye course I have ever played.”

“The game is about fun,” Liddy said. “So, we have wide fairways but we also challenge you around the greens.”
