ASGCA Past Presidents Pete and Alice Dye recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary, discussing their college courtship with Golf Channel’s “Morning Drive” as part of “Architects Week.”

Alice recalled that after three years of courting, Pete visited her at her parent’s home in Indiana. She expected him to ask her father for her hand in marriage, but after a day of golf he headed out without “popping the question.” When Alice asked if Pete was going to speak to her father, Pete replied, “You don’t get married during golf season.”

True to his word, the Dyes were wed the following Groundhog’s Day.
