“Golfweek” magazine has posted a Q&A with Gil Hanse, ASGCA. Hanse continues work on the 2016 Summer Olympic Games course in Rio de Janeiro and was on-hand for the recent PGA stop at TPC Boston, where he remade the 18th green.

Besides current and upcoming projects, Hanse also discussed his design philosophy.

“It’s primarily trying to figure out what the natural attributes of the site are and how we can incorporate those natural attributes into the design to make it full of character, full of interest. If the site is devoid of those natural characteristics, then we look at, how do we create something that we feel fits on the site.”
