The latest design from Ree Jones, ASGCA Fellow, will be a public golf course to be built in Larchwood, Iowa, reports “Golf Course Architecture” magazine.

The course will serve as part of the Grand Falls Casino along the Iowa-South Dakota border. As with any public facility, Jones will be designing to serve golfers of all abilities.

“This course will be sort of a step into the future, with the greens offering open entrances and the ability to either run the ball or fly the ball,” Jones told the magazine. “This is a beautiful lay of land and I plan to make it a prairie course, using the native prairie grasses and natural contours, designed with the wind in mind as well, absolutely.

“This course will be an awesome course for the public,” he added. “I like designing public golf courses. Courses everyone can enjoy.”
