Robert McNeil, ASGCA Associate developed an extensive golf course enhancement plan for the Mohegan Sun Country Club in Baltic, Connecticut. The project’s motivation began with the development of a comprehensive water management plan.
The plan includes the design of three large holding ponds within the course’s existing routing to maximize on-site storage; a surface flow capturing plan; and a skimming structure to utilize excess flows during flood periods. The project also incorporates the restoration of a heavily eroded stream that runs through portions of the property.
Established in 1960, Mohegan Sun Country Club is a private, 18-hole championship golf course. Renovation construction began in August 2010, and the course is expected to reopen in 2012.
