As part of “Design Week” on Golf Channel’s “Morning Drive,” ASGCA President John Sanford (Sanford Golf Design) sat down with Matt Ginella to discuss the Life Cycle of golf course elements…and the Cost of Doing Nothing.President Sanford highlighted the ASGCA Life Cycle chart as a guide for private and public facilities to utilize as a means of measuring the expectation for bunkers, tees, greens, irrigation systems, etc.

He also highlighted the value all courses can gain by working with an ASGCA member to develop and implement a Master Plan, so that improvements can be made over a period of time. Otherwise…the Cost of Doing Nothing means that everything – or nearly everything – will need to be addressed at once. And no facility wants to see that.
