Bobby Weed, ASGCA, recently talked about the many branches of the “Pete Dye Family Tree” of golf course architects with the Golf Channel’s “Morning Drive” as part of their Architecture Week. Weed is one of nearly two dozen ASGCA members who have a direct professional connection to the ASGCA Past President.

Weed noted that Dye’s legacy will ultimately be as tied to his many proteges in the field of design as the much as the 100+ courses Dye has designed.

“Not to mention the impact Pete – and the rest of us – have had on the superintendents, design associates, contractors and more who have been so connected with his projects.”

Weed then paid the highest compliment one architect can pay another when he said, “The golf course architecture industry stands on Pete’s shoulders.”
