Students at Michigan State University are used to hearing from and seeing a unique side of Chris Wilczynski, ASGCA (C.W. Golf Architecture); he serves as a professor of Turfgrass Management, taking over a course previously taught by Bruce Matthews, ASGCA. Wilczynski shared teaching advice and Master Plan development win a “Tartan Talks” podcast.

“I want them to study and understand a golf course from an artistic perspective, and get an understanding of the cost involved for each item they want to change or update, plus the time involved for each,” he told Golf Course Industry.

Wilczynski also details his work in master planning, and “How rewarding it is at the end to know we had a vision and see it executed, and how satisfying it can be to see a project completed…even if you get frustrated sometimes when a project takes nine years to finish.”
