Steve Smyers, ASGCA is working on a major renovation of France’s Evian resort golf course. “Golf Course Architecture” magazine updates the project, which has “the aim of improving the resort’s golf course before it becomes the regular host of the LPGA Tour’s new fifth major championship next year.”

Smyers is working with Great Britain’s Dave Sampson on the projet, seeking to bring specators closer to the action on the course’s closing holes. “All eighteen of the course’s greens are being rebuilt, making them more undulating, to provide a greater variety of interesting pin positions.”

The updated course will make its debut in September 2013.
