Continuing golf’s grand tradition of giving back to communities, charities and people in need, Dr. Michael Hurdzan, ASGCA Past President and Fellow, and David Whelchel, ASGCA, will host the 14th annual “Keepers of the Green” event July 16 in Dublin, Ohio.

Funds raised at the golf outing and office party go to the local chapter of the Special Forces Association (SFA) Support Program. Every dollar raised is used to assist local families of deployed soldiers or families of Special Forces soldiers in need of assistance.

The event begins at the Golf Club of Dublin with lunch at noon, followed by warm-up on the range, presentation to the local SFA Chapter, and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Following the scramble format, a BBQ party will be held at Hurdzan Golf in Columbus, Ohio.

“What better way to say ‘thank you’ to those who serve our country, while having a memorable round of golf with friends and a BBQ party surrounded by our golf collection,” Hurdzan said. “We welcome golfers and gifts, and encourage others to support causes that benefit our service members.”

Keepers of the Green members will compete with wood shaft clubs, for the Claret Jug and their name engraved on the permanent trophy. Chipping and putting contests continue at the office along with the open bar. Golf on the following day can be arranged. Cost is $125 per individual or $500 per team and hole sponsorships are available at $100 each.
